No stamp duty for first home buyers on new builds
The Queensland Government is easing costs for first home buyers, with new rules removing stamp (transfer) duty from 1 May 2025.
Eligible first home buyers will save $9,096 on a median-priced house-and-land package in Queensland.
This saving will help first home buyers to save on upfront transaction costs, boosting home ownership for more Queenslanders.
First home buyers who enter into a contract to purchase a new home to live in (or vacant land to build a home to live in) will be able to apply for a full stamp (transfer) duty concession.
