Through A Place to Call Home, we’re delivering a long-term plan to improve housing outcomes for Queenslanders.

We’re increasing the supply of affordable, accessible and diverse housing across the state by:

  • unlocking more land
  • investing in enabling infrastructure
  • building more homes, sooner.

We’re focused on practical action and tangible outcomes including:

  • creating the right conditions for investment
  • improving productivity
  • reducing barriers to housing delivery
  • strengthening partnerships across government, industry, councils and the community sector.

Through this coordinated approach, we’re expanding pathways to home ownership, increasing housing choice and supporting more Queenslanders to access the housing that meets their needs.

We’re using every lever available to secure our housing foundations and deliver more homes, sooner, ensuring Queenslanders have greater access to a safe, secure and affordable place to call home.

Our commitments

We’re committed to:

  • delivering 1 million homes by 2044
  • delivering 53,500 social and community homes by 2044
  • increasing Queensland’s home ownership rate from the lowest to the highest in the nation in a decade.

Our governance and partnerships

We are leveraging existing governance structures to help deliver more homes, sooner.

By strengthening and aligning current leadership groups, decisions about housing delivery can be made more quickly, clearly and consistently across government.

This whole-of-government approach means agencies work better together to support the delivery of secure and affordable housing in safe, well-designed and connected communities across Queensland.

Delivering more homes requires strong partnerships. To get the best outcomes, we’re work closely with:

  • industry
  • the housing and homelessness sector
  • local government
  • communities.

This coordinated approach supports more Queenslanders to find a place to call home sooner by:

  • ensuring accountability
  • reducing delays
  • helping local knowledge shape the right solutions for each area.
